Texas Wildfires
Back
from Venezuela, we were asked to help the Texas Forest Service Wildfire
Dept. with wildfire rehab. They needed a group who could respond rapidly
to the states wide spread wildfires. Working with the Salvation Army,
we traveled the roads for over 3 weeks taking supplies to the backlines
and supply depot. With only 5 volunteers and 3 trucks, we helped keep
those volunteer firemen with rehab so they could keep fighting the fires.
Many we found dehydrated to the point of fainting. Those guys are incredible!!
As a result of all of the agencies combined efforts, firemen
stayed on the lines longer without having to stop, resulting in smaller
fires and less danger to the public.
